Gun Violence Leaves 55 Shot and 10 Dead In Chicago

Chicago, IL – Gun violence is growing extensively in the city. With police now backing down due to personal views, the city is hitting record highs.

Throughout the week, Chicago PD was expecting heavy resistance from protesters as they continue to fight for equality for the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many other POC’s who have been targeted by heavy police brutality.

Gun Violence Grows Rapid Throughout The City

Many supporters of the Chicago Police Department took to social media to show their support.

“See? This is what happens when you defund the police,” says Sharen Luvell.”These people in the streets are really hurting the community. They are taking the focus out of what is really going on in the city.”

Other supporters of either side are voicing themselves for one reason or another.

“The results of this is terrifying. Especially for my kids and family,” posted by Arther Rivers. “Now everyone is in danger and it’s not just them. We are here too and we’re scared.”

Throughout the country, the protests are turning ugly as many pro-trump supporters are eager to take out any and all acts of threatening behavior. Meanwhile, governors of all states are showing which side of the fence they are on.

“We aren’t here to start violence. Gun violence or any kind of violence. That is what many are telling you. We are here to bring peace to this broken system that does not treat minorities correctly. We want fair and equal justice.”

For many, the time for change is here and can be openly talked about. For others, the time is here to continue to stoke the flame and make things worse. By instigating acts of violence for people and property, one does not wish to make amends for the past. Still, the thought of reform or a light at the end of the tunnel is far away.
